* Providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support
* Minimizing technological interventions
* Identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention

Healthy Start Coalition Breakfast

This morning was the Healthy Start Coalition of Pinellas County's breakfast. Jennie Joseph, LM, CPM was there as the guest speaker. She was so fascinating to listen to. She spoke about the high rates of infant and maternal mortality in the United States, which ranks 2nd worst in the industrialized world! Jennie made a beautiful point: every woman wants a healthy baby and she deserves one. A statement I will not soon forget...

Accepted!

On Friday I received my long awaited letter from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. I was so nervous I had Mike open it and read it to me aloud. Accepted! Classes start August 30th! I'm so excited to go back to school for something I am so passionate about! I feel so fortunate and blessed.
